The Victorian Government Risk Management Framework (VGRMF)

The Victorian Government Risk Management Framework (VGRMF) sets out the departments and agencies that play key roles in monitoring, reporting and advising government.

VMIA's services of a strategic statewide nature, as noted in the VGRMF, include:

  • provision of advice to Government on statewide risk. VMIA also acts as a conduit for risk management information through advice to the Minister for Finance
  • creation of a centre of excellence in risk management for Government and for state entities across Victoria. This includes provision of products and services that enable entities to develop and improve their risk management frameworks.

VMIA is also a participant on the State Emergency Mitigation Committee (SEMC) which has responsibility for multi-agency emergency risk assessment.  The SEMC is convened and supported in its work by the Office of the Emergency Services Commissioner.
