Risk Management

The VMIA provides risk management assistance to clients. That assistance includes the following:

  • educational services via bi-monthly risk management seminars
  • quarterly editions of our risk management publication, risky business
  • customised and ad-hoc training with the assistance of external providers on a variety of risk management topics
  • assistance with risk management workshops
  • regular client contact with client service teams
  • the site risk survey (SRS) engineering program
  • use of the VMIA's Risk Framework Quality Review (RFQR)
  • access to risk management resources on the VMIA website
  • co-funding of client risk management initiatives
  • ad hoc risk management bulletins and risk management resource links
  • free incident reporting database software
  • risk management forums
  • advice on insurance and indemnity provisions

The above risk management services are made available via a planning process through the client relationship managers or by request. In most cases the costs of these services are met through client premiums and are provided at no additional charge to individual clients. The VMIA is happy to further discuss how clients may best take advantage of these services.

The VMIA is also able to consult with clients to assist them in accessing and selecting additional risk management resources that are beyond the scope of the VMIA's role.
