Risk Management
Overview
Risk management is a logical and sequential approach taken to identify risks, quantify their impacts and manage them within defined acceptable limits.
Within today's businesses, whether government or private, risk management philosophy, risk policy development, and risk mitigation procedures must be understood and supported by top-most management in order that maximum benefit may be derived from the process.
VMIA recommends that its public healthcare clients consider risk management from a holistic perspective that is both clinical and non clinical. While individually the clinical and non clinical areas of a public health care client will have different imperatives it is essential that a co-ordinated approach to the management of risk within each client be adopted.
