Domestic Builders Indemnity Fund (HIH Package)

Our assessment of your claim will be done on a "without prejudice" basis. This means that until we provide you with a written decision accepting each part of your claim, we do not accept that any part of your claim is afforded indemnity under the House Contracts Guarantee (HIH) Act 2001.

Once a claim has been assessed, both you and the builder are entitled to appeal the assessment to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal in the event that either of you are not satisfied with it.
