VMIA Training in 2009 - NEW INITIATIVES

NEW July - December VMIA Training Essentials Program.

The VMIA offers its programs in both metropolitan and regional locations, with this edition offering training in Camperdown, Traralgon, Shepparton, Wangarrata and Grampians.
Further professional development programs including the Risk Leadership Seminar Series, Risk Management Executive Breakfasts, Executive Healthcare Breakfasts, Insurance Forums, information sessions and tailored training sessions will be organised throughout the year and are detailed in our Upcoming Training pages.

The series provides great opportunities for participants to engage with leading professionals in the risk management and insurance field as well as network with each other.

Risk Management Learning Sets
In this calendar period, the VMIA will be piloting a new Risk Management Learning Sets program designed for risk management professionals in the Victorian Public Service (VPS). Available for the first time, participation in the Risk Management Learning Sets provides the opportunity for risk management professionals to extend their network, receive peer support and be encouraged in the process of improving risk management within their organisation.

For more information on this program, please download a copy of the Program Brochure below. Alternatively, you can contact David Pearce, Manager Client Learning Services on 9270 6871 or email training@vmia.vic.gov.au.

RFQR Learnings from VMIA Clients
Back by popular demand, the ‘Characteristics of Exemplar RFQR Clients’ series provides a forum for clients to hear first hand accounts of other organisation’s ‘exemplary’ risk management frameworks. This forum is being held on Wednesday 12 August, and more information will be published on the website closer to the date.

Risk Programs
In this edition we have introduced a number of 2 and 3 part programs aimed at imparting the skills and knowledge gained from workshops, back into the workplace. Attendees must agree to participate in all parts of the program and will be required to complete take home work after each session. Examples of these sessions include, Climate Risk Management and Project Risk Management.
