Overview

How do you take practical steps to address cyber threats facing your organisation without being an expert in technology?

This workshop’s designed to demystify cyber risk and build your ability to manage this risk in collaboration with your IT and information management specialists.

This interactive session will provide risk practitioners with an overview of government expectations, the Essential 8 mitigation strategies and how to use the popular bow tie tool to visualise these risks. The workshop will also cover the Victorian Government Cyber Maturity Benchmark and using the Benchmark in your organisation.

This is an interactive online workshop where you’ll be invited to engage in quizzes, polls and small group discussions. At times, you may be asked to switch on your camera and microphone to participate. To fully participate in this session, please log in via a laptop or desktop computer using Google Chrome, Firefox or Safari as your browser.

This offering was formerly titled Cyber Resilience Foundations. If you’ve previously attended this workshop, there may be an overlap in content

By the end of the workshop, you should be able to:

  • Increase your awareness of government expectations around cyber risk
  • Assess your organisation’s baseline IT security maturity using the Essential 8
  • Use a bow tie diagram to visualise and identify cyber risks
