Overview

Managing risk is part of everybody’s job. Effective risk management supports informed decision making and helps to achieve positive outcomes at every level of an organisation.

This session will build your confidence in understanding core risk management concepts, as well as provide you with frameworks and tools to assist you and your organisation in the way that they manage risk.

This is an interactive online workshop where you’ll be invited to engage in quizzes, polls and small group discussions. At times, you may be asked to switch on your camera and microphone to participate. To fully participate in this session, please log in via a laptop or desktop computer using Google Chrome, Firefox or Safari as your browser. 

Learning outcomes

By the end of the workshop, you should be able to:

  • understand key risk management concepts
  • apply risk based decision making
  • use relevant risk management tools

Audience

This session is suited to public sector professionals interested in risk management with limited or no risk management expertise and knowledge.

Teresa Riccio-Goodwin, Client Learning Facilitator

I’ve spent my professional career working within various facets of risk management and internal audit. I am a globally qualified internal auditor, and furthering my studies in Risk Management with the Risk Management Institute of Australasia. I enjoy working within risk management and internal controls, this is translated into my friendly approach to tasks and working collaboratively with people to add value to the risk and audit function.
