Welcome to your guide on submitting your IBPS attestation form through the VMIA portal.
Key dates to remember
The attestation period runs from 1 September to 30 September.
You’ll only be able to access the attestation form during the attestation period.
Important considerations
Maternity services level 2 and 3:
- Receive a 5% refund of your obstetric premium with a minimum of $24,200 (including GST and stamp duty) when you attest that 80% or more of birth suite clinicians have received training in the focus areas 1, 2 and 3, outlined in the training criteria.
Maternity services level 4 to 6:
- Receive a 3% refund of your obstetric premium with a minimum of $24,200 (including GST and stamp duty) when you attest that 80% or more of birth suite clinicians have received training in the focus areas 1, 2 and 3, outlined in the training criteria.
- Receive an additional 2% refund of your obstetric premium when you’ve started to implement the Operative Vaginal Birth (OVB) Safety Bundle (focus area 4).
If any of the answers do not meet the criteria, your signatory contact will be notified during the approval process. Regardless of the overall completion rate, we strongly encourage all participants to complete the attestation form.
IBPS roles in the VMIA portal
Each health service can nominate up to 2 IBPS Contacts and 1 IBPS Signatory to their account. Your contacts and signatories are responsible for submitting the attestation of your hospital.
For health services with multiple sites:
There will be an IBPS Contact from the health service who is responsible for submitting the attestation for each site.

Following attestation submission
We’ll review and process your submission.
If you meet the IBPS criteria, a letter of acknowledgement will be sent to your email, along with remittance advice.
If you don’t meet the IBPS criteria, we’ll review your individual case and determine if there’s grounds for an appeal.
If we require any further information during this review process we’ll reach out to your IBPS Contact.
Your refund will be processed in November.
