Privacy Collection Notice
The Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA) is committed to protecting the personal information provided by you in accordance with the principles of the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic).
The purpose for which the information is collected
Personal information collected through VMIA’s Online Learning Platform is collected only for the purpose of VMIA’s functions set out in section 6 of the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority Act 1996 (Vic) [PDF, 169KB]. Specifically, information is collected to record and analyse completion statistics for VMIA clients, issue participants with login facilities to access the Online Learning Platform and deal with requests and feedback from participants and VMIA clients.
To whom VMIA may disclose information
We may share personal information within the VMIA, the Department of Treasury and Finance and third parties such as, service providers who assist us to provide the Online Learning Platform and carry out our functions, such as IT, archival, auditing, research, security and professional advisory services.
If you do not provide the information
If you do not provide all or part of the information requested, you will not be able to participate in the Online Learning Platform. There may be further consequences if you do not undertake the learning modules relevant to you.

Information collected by the Online Learning will be used only for the purposes set out above, stored securely and retained under a framework commensurate with the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic).
Information collected by VMIA will be used only for the purposes set out above, stored securely and retained under the Protective Data Security Standards of the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic) and the standards of the Public Records Act 1973 (Vic).
The information may be subject to audits by the Auditor General under the Audit Act 1994 (Vic) and freedom of information requests under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Vic).
