Insurance and indemnities register

An agency must maintain a current register of all insurance and indemnities, and make this available to VMIA.

Steps to take

1. Confirm insurances placed with VMIA

Please contact your relationship team on (03) 9270 6900 to obtain an Insurance Summary Report of all your insurances held with VMIA.

2. Maintain a register of insurances

Victorian Government Departments and agencies that are required to comply with Ministerial Direction 4.5.5  must maintain a register of all their insurances (excluding insurances held with TAC and VWA). If you hold any insurances outside of VMIA, please provide a copy of your register of insurance to VMIA through your annual insurance questionnaire.

3. Maintain an indemnities register

Victorian Government Departments and agencies that are required to comply with Ministerial Direction 4.5.5  must also maintain a register of indemnities provided to third parties for contracts entered into or renewed from 1 January 2014. If you have recorded any indemnities please provide a copy of your register of indemnities to VMIA through your annual insurance questionnaire.

Indemnities include those provided to you by the Victorian treasurer, as well as indemnities provided by you contractually to third parties for contracts entered into  or renewed after 1 January 2014.
